Welcome to readers from the Year of Science website

As part of the Year of Science 2009, the scientific community is sharing how science works, why it matters, and who scientists are. Year of Science and Alom Shaha have teamed up to bring you a collection of videos, podcasts and written articles to help you explore why science is important.

There are two things you can do here, we hope you will do both!

  1. Browse the collection of statements about why science is important, submitted by leading scientists, public figures, and others who love science.

  2. Answer the question for yourself: Why do you think science is important? Feel free to comment on any contributor’s statement on his or her individual page, or add your own written, audio or video contribution to the website by emailing Alom Shaha at alom.shaha(at)gmail.com
